Jennifer Maestre started to do this kind of dangerous looking, mostly sea creatures sculptures when she was  in art school. At first she was makind them with nails but in her words “But I couldn’t get a lot of variations of form, or the kind of shapes I wanted” and then she started to use colored-pencils which could help her to get so many different shapes, and also it is cheaper. Designs are edgy and sharp, I find them very interesting and clever.

  1. I don’t know if it is the colors or the shapes; the curves etc but they reminded me of Gaudi’s structure designs ^^

She must have spend lots of times on these ones. They look attractive and different. I liked them. The objects she is using are pen, sharp and straight however she managed to create curvely sculpture and they look really soft. Nice find.

  2. The material used is extreamly simple yet inspiring. I don’t know why but I have a thing for different kinds of sculptures and this one inspired me with its design and shape.Unlimitted energy is presented in all of these sculptures.

I think these designs looks really nice and dangereous at the same time. It looks extremely sharp i wonder how many times the artist stabbed herself 🙂
I liked the use of color too.

  3. I want to touch it!
I guess it’s the description to the level of how successful it is 🙂
